I read this book last night. It took me about 40 minutes and was EXCELLENT. Better than the regular Kit books, I think- and WAY better than the short stories.

The plot was well developed and had more than one thing going on. The mystery aspect was neat, it wasn't ever a scary mystery, but a "what's happening next" type mystery. My only qualm with the book is there was no way for you to solve the mystery before Kit. It didn't leave enough clues to figure it out. You could figure out the characters involved, but the rest of the information was never given. There was a very "happy for everyone" ending, that was somewhat hard to believe, but nice.

Overall, I expected not to like the mysterys (no idea why) and really ended up loving this one. A must read!

I don't know what reading level it is at, but I would say it is a little bit higher than the normal books.

    HI,

Thank you so much for the review. My dd loves Kit & has all the books , except the Mystery and World ones. She will be happy to know that it is going to be a good read.

The reading level for the regular books is around 2nd-3rd grade & I believe I read somewhere that the mysteries are geared for 4th-5th grade level.

P.S. You are doing great on your 100 day challenge! Love your ticker.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I thought the same before reading them.

I have all three, and have read all of them except Kaya's (as I still haven't read her core books yet!), and Kit's was definitely my favorite, followed by Samantha's, and then Molly's.

I hope the new set is as good as the last one. Anyone else wondering how they'll manage to include Elizabeth into Felicity's at some point?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't think she'd have any problems comprehending any of it, it just might take her a bit longer to read. I read a lot of kids books and occasionaly pause when I see a word that I don't think a kid in the target age group of the book would know, and I didn't once do that with these.

Yes, I think that the reading level wouldn't be too hard for a strong reader, but I'm planning on waiting on the mysteries. Gives her something to "graduate" to after she finishes all the core and short stories. We still have to finish Kit, Molly and Josefina. Haven't even started Samantha, Kirsten, or Kaya. She read all of Felicity b/c she got the boxed set for Christmas, and she doesn't know I've finished off her Kit set yet, so she will be finished with those soon, I think.

The mystery books are nice books with a lot of pages. My 5th grade daughter is reading them. They are good for her age. It's nice that she can't just breeze through the mysteries like the short stories since she has to keep a reading journal for school and read at least 30 minutes a night.
